of Norman, Good and Bad The City of
Norman's 2005 Community Report Card is out, with most indicators showing 2004
as a good year. City Manager Brad Gambill said there are lots of areas to
celebrate the city's progress, but there are many areas to improve.” It’s a

full story Atmospheric Technology Services Company Receives 8(a)
Certification
NORMAN, Okla. – Atmospheric Technology Services Company, L.L.C., is pleased to announce they have been certified under the SBA, 8(a) certification program for small disadvantaged businesses. 8(a) is a one-time, 9-year certification designed to give companies a good start in federal contracting and provide an added government evaluation factor. Recent changes permit 8(a) firms to form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts. This enhances the ability of certified firms to perform larger prime contracts and overcome the effects of contract bundling. By Christin ForneyClick

of Economic Impact Study For a long time
local builders and developers have said they make significant economic
contributions to the growth of Norman—now they have the numbers to back them
up. According to Elliot Eisenberg, housing policy economist for the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB), in 2004 Norman builders and developers
generated nearly $80 million in local income, $9 million in taxes and other

eateries/bars at Campus Corner, seating 440 people, and is a more upscale
venue than has been typical of the just adjacent to the University of
