and Norman news. Software Development Technologies to Locate In
Norman, Oklahoma Software Development Technologies
(SDT) President and CEO, Edward Kit, announced that his company would be
opening a high tech services office in Norman. SDT will be leasing 5,000
square feet of space in the former Saxon Headquarters building, with plans to
expand to 25, 000 square feet over the next 3 to 5 years. SDT will make a
formal announcement of relocation and host a reception at its new office in

Former
Saxon Headquarters Sold For $4.2M The Norman Economic Development Coalition announced that the former Saxon Publishing headquarters office building in Norman has sold for $4.2 million to local investment group NP Property One LLC, The 66,000-square-foot building is expected to attract additional high-tech business interest to the Oklahoma Technology Corridor on state Highway 9, coalition Executive Director Don Wood said. regarding the economy of Norman, including unemployment figures, city and use
sales taxes, and building permits. Albon Skeleton Goes UP The concrete and steel framework
for the 200,000-square-ft Albon Engineering & Manufacturing plant takes
shape at the Norman Business Park. The $10 million plant, which will manufacture
automotive connecting rods, is being built by Gail Armstrong Construction Co.
It will cost another $20 million to equip. Albon officials say the plant
employ about 200 skilled workers. It is expected to be completed and begin

officially became a new Sister City for the City of Norman in a day filled
with ceremonies, barbecue, tours and new experiences. "So let us together? The City of Seika and

Weather NORMAN – The University of
Oklahoma is the first university in the state and one of only 10 nationwide
to achieve the StormReady designation awarded by the National Weather
Service. To achieve the
designation, the University met NWS guidelines related to information
reception equipment, local weather and water monitoring equipment, local

Development Coalition to Participate in Cost of Living Index Survey “For years we have used the Oklahoma City Cost of
Living Index as our closest reference to the Norman area, due to lack of
staff time to participate in the program.” Norman Economic Development
Coalition, Executive Director Don Wood said. “We are pleased to soon have an
actual Cost of Living Index to provide a benchmark for the City of Norman.”

NSF Grant The University of Oklahoma’s Center for
Semiconductor Physics in Nanostructures is the recipient of a six-year, $7.8
million National Science Foundation grant. The center, a research program
headquartered in the College of Arts and Sciences Department of Physics
and Astronomy and directed by OU physics professor Matthew Johnson, is one of
approximately 25 Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers across
the nation, including ones at Harvard, Caltech, MIT, Princeton and Stanford.

Until recent years, Campus Corner was hardly a thriving area in Norman — unless, that is, it was a gameday.
