Racing Subsidiary Moves Headquarters To Norman

Boundless Motor Sports Racing plans to relocate its operation offices from Colorado Springs, Colo., to the corporate headquarters in Norman. "We're confident that the relocation of the operations office to Oklahoma will enhance the company's level of communication and performance with our team owners, drivers, promoters, track owners, sponsors and most importantly, our dedicated fans," Dickey said. Chamber Endorses Weather Enterprise Fund

The Norman Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has endorsed the idea of a "Weather Enterprise Development Fund" to aid startup weather-related businesses locating in Norman. The "weather community" in Norman seeks a $500,000 fund that would subsidize rent and other overhead costs during the formative stages of new businesses that sell weather data. OCAST Announces Grants Awarded For Studying Bovine Disease, Improving Crops

Two new OCAST grants have been approved by the board of directors of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. The projects support supervised, student interns conducting research for improving row crops and for rapid monitoring of calves for disease using technology patented by an Oklahoma company. An Emerging Leader In Nanotechnology

In 2001, a privately held specialty chemical company was formed in Norman to adopt technology evolving from research at the University of Oklahoma. From that marriage of private and public resources, SouthWest NanoTechnologies has developed into a company that sells single-wall carbon nanotubes for $500 per gram to customers in the United States, Korea, Japan and Germany, said Daniel E. Resasco, founder and chief scientist for SouthWest NanoTechnologies, as well as the S.A. Wilson Professor of Chemical Engineering and George Lynn Cross Professor, School of Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering at OU.

Developers Unite In Effort to Establish Better Community Relations

Local community developers recently announced the formation of the Norman Developers Council. Comprised of more than 20 developers, the group meets monthly to address issues critical to land development and the quality of life in Norman. “Developers are such an integral part of building healthy communities and strong neighborhoods that it is important we take a proactive role in working with citizens in shaping Norman’s future,” said Trey Bates, Norman Developers Council chairman.  By Lori Johnson

Progress of the National Weather Center on OU’s south campus
A camera has been installed to capture the daily progress of the National Weather Center on south campus. The University of Oklahoma (OU) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are constructing the National Weather Center to provide a consolidated, state-of-the-art facility for research, operations, education, and training.
