Norman,
both a suburb and the third-most-populated city in the state, competently
competes with Oklahoma City for commercial growth. In multiple areas, the
home to the University of Oklahoma Sooners comes out on top. "Norman by
far has the lowest retail vacancy rate in the entire metro area and as a result,

Coalition (NEDC) was honored with a Partners for Progress Award during the
2005 Career and Technology Education Summer Conference held Aug. 2-4 at the
Tulsa Convention Center. The award recognizes businesses that were nominated
by their local technology center for their contributions to the development,

graduates, ACT compiled its test information to measure the college readiness
of among high school students. While Oklahoma's average score is 20.4- the
national average is 20.9 - several area districts posted significantly higher
numbers. Out of more than 400 high schools with a reported score, Norman High

County Workforce Investment Board elected its 2005-2006 officers at their
regularly scheduled board meeting held Tuesday, August 16th. The
Board is pleased to announce its incoming Chairman, Dee Ann Gay. “Since
becoming a Workforce Board member I’ve gained a better appreciation of how
our One Stop agency works to ensure there are opportunities to offer help and

the full story Norman Receives Thirteenth Consecutive Financial Award For the fourteenth year in a
row, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has
been awarded to the City of Norman by the Government Finance Officers
Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive
annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the
highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and
financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant

full story OU Gains Aviation
Accreditation The aviation department at the
University of Oklahoma Outreach has become just one of 20 schools nationwide
to receive accreditation for its bachelor's degree programs in aviation
management and professional pilot, officials said Monday. That action by the
national Council on Aviation Accreditation makes OU the only school in the

release shows Oklahoma’s seasonally -adjusted employment growing 0.1%, or by
1,300 jobs between June 2005 and July 2005. During this time period, Oklahoma
was one of thirty-four states in the nation and one of five states in the
